Practice Policies & FAQs

  • Second Breakfast Nutrition accepts self-pay and is also an in-network provider with:

    Blue Cross and Blue Shield

    Aetna

(please contact to check coverage for your specific plan)

We are happy to submit claims on your behalf.

For all other insurance, we are able to provide a superbill for you to submit for out of network benefits.

PLEASE NOTE: BCBS of South Carolina does not typically cover nutrition counseling services.

  • Each client is responsible for checking their individual benefits. Steps to take PRIOR to your appointment:

    1. Call the member services number on the back of your card.

Here are some important questions to ask.

Is the group Annie Goldsmith RD, LLC with NPI number 1649727140 considered in-network?

Does my plan cover outpatient nutrition counseling under the CPT codes 97802 and 97803?

Is the ICD-10 code z71.3 covered?

If not, ask for a list of covered ICD-10 codes

Is there a session visit limit? If so, how many sessions are covered per year?

Do I have a deductible to meet first? If yes, how much?

Is there a co-pay and if so what is the amount?

**We recommend you ask for the name of the rep you speak to & the call reference number.

    2. Bring your insurance card to your first appointment, or upload to your Simple Practice intake forms.

Don’t hesitate to contact our practice manager Autumn at second.breakfast.rd@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns about working with your insurance.

  • All appointments must be scheduled in advance. If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged a cancellation fee, which is outlined in our intake forms.

  • As of January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers are required to provide estimates for the costs of your care. A Good Faith Estimate will be provided by your clinician upon scheduling and/or as requested. While it is difficult to predict the number of sessions you will ultimately need to reach your treatment goals, we strive to be as transparent as possible about cost of treatment during this process.
